What We Collect

• Family member names, optional email addresses, and avatar preferences
• Chore assignments, completion records, and reward history
• Points, money balances, streaks, and badge progress
• Login sessions (hashed PINs, never stored in plaintext)

How We Use It

All data is used solely to operate your family's chore management system. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising.

Data Storage

Your data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon. PINs and passwords are hashed with bcrypt before storage and are never stored in plaintext.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate ChoresHub. These providers may process your data as described below:

• Vercel -- hosting, serverless functions, and blob storage (used for avatar and icon uploads)
• Neon -- PostgreSQL database provider (stores all app data including family members, chores, assignments, and balances)
• Resend -- transactional email delivery (used for PIN reset links and login notifications)

We only share data with these providers as necessary to operate the service. We do not sell your data to any third party.

Email

If configured, email is used only for PIN reset links and optional login notifications. We use Resend as our email provider.

Your Rights

• Export: Parents can export all family data via Settings
• Delete: Parents can delete individual members or the entire family
• Access: All your data is visible within the app

Children's Privacy

ChoresHub is designed for family use. Children's accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian, and parental consent is obtained during the family signup process. We collect minimal information about children (name, avatar, chore activity) and do not collect age or contact information from children directly. Children cannot create accounts on their own -- a parent must add them to the family.
